THOUSANDS OF GATES
Fushimi Inari Shrine is a Shinto shrine. You might recognize the picture of the many torii gates. Many tourist are attracted to the beauty of this place. First, you walk through a big gate (donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi), which is the entrance, and you can walk up the mountain through a trail up Mount Inari. If you hike up all the way, it can take over 2 hours, but it`s very beautiful. Each gate was donated by someone, and the gates have names enscribed in them. You can donate a gate too! The big gates are a little pricy though. The shrine is dedicated to the god of rice. There`s also a type of sushi called inari sushi, so if you`re interested and you like sushi, be sure to check it out.
One of Fushimi`s main attractions. Enjoy a little hike through Kyoto`s mountains while walking throught thousands of shrines! The hike is about 2-3 hours but it`s up to you how far you walk.
If you`re looking for a place to stay in Kyoto, the best bet is to find a place that is close to Kyoto Station because many of Kyoto`s famous sight seeing spots are close to Kyoto Station, also it`s a central location for transportaion.
A perfect place to stop and rest after your mini Fushimi hike. Amazing coffee and a great atmosphere.
